Sketch a Day

In the spirit of October, I’ve resolved to create one sketch a day.

As you may know, I’m a self-taught artist with quite a bit of experience in Adobe Illustrator. Though vector art will always have a special place in my heart, I’ve come to realize that my digital painting skills are noticeably lacking, and thus this month will largely be devoted to creating sketches in Photoshop, with the following goals in mind:

1. Practice digital painting techniques

2. Work more quickly

3. Develop a looser style

To kick off the month, here’s a sketch of a sea otter similar to the ones we saw at the Vancouver Aquarium this morning, happily playing around in the rain.
